A pitch day event was held at Old Trafford. Which allowed 2 students from SHS to take part in.
Ameria Ali (Year 9) and Abdullah Hafeji (Year10) were selected to participate in the event due to their commitment to extra-curricular activities with the HDO and their positive behaviour around the school.
They both took part in 40 minute friendly match with students from other hub partnership schools. The students were given Manchester United football kits that they got to keep and had their pictures taken pitch after their games. When they weren’t playing, they got to sit in the Manchester United 1st team dugouts.
After the game, the students got the chance to ask questions to disabled athletes from the world of sport, including the GB wheelchair rugby captain. The day was enjoyed by not only the students but their parents/guardians who were also allowed to watch.
