At Stretford High School, we aim to ensure that students have a successful transition. We want all students, who choose Stretford High school, to get used to their new routines with great ease, develop new friendships and improve their self-esteem and confidence.
We will do our best to ensure that students will have the tools and emotional resilience to manage this transition. With this in mind, we planned and delivered a full week of activities for all students who joined us in Year 7 in September 2021.
Summer school has given them the opportunity to meet their prospective classmates and peers, some of our staff and familiarise themselves with the school before their official arrival in September.
We hosted our “Summer School Spectacular” from 26th-30th July 2021.
Students got the chance to take part in a variety of exciting activities including, sports, crafts, Drama and of course English, Maths and Science. Zest Meetings and Events Ltd organised and provided the students with some amazingly different activities like Junk Funk, Circus Skills, Team Building Challenge, Knockout challenge and Country Pursuits. SHS staff also planned and provided academic and physical activities throughout the week, including “A day in the life of Stretford High”, which mimicked a typical day in school.
They had different lessons around the school following a mock example timetable.
