Dear Parents/Carers,
Following on the tragic news of the death of Year 9 student Hajra Sidat and her parents, I am writing to let you know that the funeral will take place at 11am on Wednesday, 7th November at Southern Cemetery, Chorlton-Cum-Hardy.
I know that Hajra and her family are well loved and respected in the community and that many of you will want to attend the funeral. I understand and respect that decision.
If you wish to attend the funeral with your child, please inform the school in the usual way and the absence will be marked as authorised. A number of staff will also be in attendance and your child may not have their usual class teacher for some of their lessons.
I have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love from our pupils who are determined to do good in Hajra’s name and the offers of support from parents and the community. We are very grateful to be in the heart of a wonderful community who truly cares about each other.
Again, I am sure you will all join me in sending your love and support to Hajra’s family at this extremely difficult
time.
