Dear Parents/Carers
At SHS, we all work together to CARE – that is to:
We know that we cannot do this in isolation and we are very grateful to the many professionals across Trafford who help us achieve our aim: the nursing service, social services, mental health and well-being professionals, Manchester United, Lancashire Cricket Club…. this list could go on for quite some time!
One of our professional partners is Greater Manchester Police in Trafford. We are a community school and our children know that they are a SHS pupil morning, noon and night. Their well-being and safety outside school hours is just as important to us. Therefore, we have always worked hand in hand with GMP to ensure our children are safe and behave safely in our community.
To promote this working together even more, the school is delighted to welcome a new member of staff to our community: PC Melanie Harrison. She has been an officer with GMP for 4 years and before that she was a Special Constable. PC Harrison will be based in school one day per week from Monday 27th September and will also be available to us throughout the week to help and support our community.
Away from GMP, PC Harrison enjoys running and roller skating when she’s feeling energetic and reading and watching films when she’s not – horror and crime of course! She shares our ambition to CARE and I am looking forward to growing her role for the good of our children and families over the coming months.
As always, I am available to you at [email protected] if you have queries or suggestions.
Yours faithfully
Mrs N Doward
