Summary

Please read the important letter from Mrs Doward regarding Y11 study leave.   In a week full of events at Stretford High School, here’s a breakdown of the key activities:

Year 10 Psychologists’ Journey – The week started with Year 10 students engaging in a series of micro-presentations, reflecting on their journey from childhood to adolescence. These presentations provided a personal narrative of each student’s development, highlighting major milestones and events that have shaped their lives.

Sport – Stretford High School also saw a visit from Phallon Tullis-Joyce, a Manchester United Women’s Goalkeeper, who is passionate about ocean conservation. Her visit involved a engaging discussion with students about the importance of protecting marine life and coral reefs, a topic she is deeply invested in.  Meanwhile, the school’s cricket teams, the Harry’s Allstars and the Khan Hitters, had their matches. These teams demonstrated great sportsmanship and the importance of setting and achieving goals.

No Car Day – 24th May –  second annual No Car Day, organised by the school’s Youth Travel Ambassador Team. This event involved closing a section of the road to cars for a certain period, to promote active travel within the school and community between 8-8.30 am

School Vacancies – Two current vacancies: a Science Technician and a Science Teacher.
