Stretford High School

A summary of key updates from SHS, including messages from the Headteacher and from different school departments.

Headteacher Mrs Doward has welcomed students back for 2024 and assured parents of the school’s commitment to a nurturing and enriching environment.
Plans are underway to allow parents contribute to the selection of extracurricular clubs for their children and a system to facilitate club sign-up is being developed.
The school encourages strong communication between parents and the school and celebrates student achievements both in and outside school.
Awards for 100% attendance in Term 1 have been given out, with bronze, silver and gold awards for 1, 2, and 3 terms of perfect attendance respectively.
Miss Hodge encourages students to set reading goals for the new year and shares a book review from a Year Seven student.
Year 10 Psychology students have been exploring the impact of social media on mental health.
Forest school activities have included bird watching and bridge construction.
Year 7 English students have started a new topic on Victorian Literature and engaged in a class debate on the diversity of Victorian London.
Year 10 students have completed an assessment on Islam Practices.
