Stretford High School

SUMMARY
  • Year 11: Congratulations to our Year 11 students for completing their GCSE exams. We wish them all the best for their future endeavors and look forward to seeing them at the 2024 Prom.
  • Year 10: They are successfully navigated their mock GCSE exams and are preparing for their work experience week (1st – 5th July). The first six Year 10 Prefects have been commendable in their presentations for the Head Prefect role.
  • Year 7: Community Leaders collected nine bags of litter and planted in the local community, impressing everyone with their dedication. Additionally, they are refining their creative writing skills by focusing on specific nouns and adjectives.

Upcoming Events and Important Dates

  • No School on Monday: 24th June
  • The new academic year starts on Tuesday, 25th June.
  • Year 10 Work Experience: Scheduled from 1st to 5th July.
  • Mock Interviews for Year 10: Taking place on 8th July.
  • Last Day of Summer Term: Friday, 19th July.

Visiting Professionals

  • Aeronautical Engineer from BAE and a Global Product Manager in the Medical field, spoke to Year 10 students, inspiring them with their career journeys and answering pertinent questions.

Library Highlights

  • LGBTQ+ Book Recommendations: For Pride Month, Alexia in Year 8 recommends “The Heartstopper series,” “Something to be Proud Of,” “The Comedienne’s Guide to Pride,” and “The Little Book of Pride.   Year 11 students suggest “The Hunger Games series,” “A Good Girls’ Guide to Murder,” “Haunting Adeline,” and “Frozen Charlotte.”

Community Support

  • Trafford Educational Psychology Service: Offering free 30-minute consultations for families in Trafford who have not already seen the EP through school or do not have an EHCP. Appointments are available on Tuesday lunchtimes and Wednesday evenings.

Additional Information

  • Clubs : New club timetable starting 25th June.
  • Job Vacancies : Current vacancy for a PE Technician, application deadline 24th June.
