Year 7 Football Versus Ashton on Mersey

Our year 7’s played Ashton on Mersey away in the Trafford Football Cup on Wednesday after school.

This is a fixture that normally fills us with dread as we have entered scores to Trafford in the past and people have assumed that we were playing cricket.

In true Stretford fashion we went 2-0 immediately but we managed to fight our way back and come away with a stonking 5-3 win! Caius scored 3 absolutely filthy goals, I was close to C3ing him because of his level of disrespect towards some defenders (with his skill). I had to shout on “these children have families, Caius” but he responded by scoring an overhead kick.

Other performances of note from Kanji who snapped his glasses but soldiered on and got Man Of The Match from the opposing teacher. Adam also kept us in the game early on while we were nervous and Isa who is an absolute magician in midfield.

Other goal scorers were Aaron and Isa.
