SEND
Stretford High School offers comprehensive SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) support to ensure all students have access to an inclusive and nurturing learning environment. The school is dedicated to tailoring educational approaches that meet individual needs, fostering both academic growth and personal development.
A team of experienced staff, including SEND coordinators and teaching assistants, works closely with students, parents, and external agencies to create personalised learning plans that accommodate different learning styles and abilities. This collaborative approach includes targeted interventions, differentiated teaching strategies, and ongoing assessment to support students’ progress.
By promoting a supportive atmosphere, Stretford High School aims to empower students with SEND to achieve their fullest potential and build confidence in their abilities.
If you wish to speak to the SENDCo, Mr Deborah Rhodes, you can contact her on the school telephone number 0161 876 1850 or email: [email protected].

At Stretford High School, we are committed to supporting every child’s needs. When a student has Special Educational Needs or Disabilities (SEND), we follow a graduated approach in line with our 2024 SEND Policy and the national SEND Code of Practice. This means we provide support step-by-step, increasing help as needed so that no child is left behind.
We start with high-quality teaching in the classroom for all, and if a child needs more help, we add extra support in stages. Our approach has three main stages 3 early concerns, SEN Support in school, and if necessary, an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) 3 which we explain in this guide:
