Dear Parents/Carers
SHS News 12/12/25
We are absolutely delighted to share that Stretford High School has been successfully re‑accredited with the Leading Parent Partnership Award (LPPA) for a further three years following a full external audit last week.
This is a nationally recognised award and it matters because it looks closely at how well schools work with parents, not just how well we communicate to them. The verifier’s feedback was extremely positive and confirmed something we already know to be true: strong partnerships sit at the heart of our school community.
What the audit found
The reassessment highlighted a number of real strengths, including:
- A genuine commitment to parent partnership from staff at all levels, supported by governors and embedded in our school development work
- Clear, accessible communication through Arbor, Google Classroom, curriculum guides, learning postcards and our weekly newsletter
- A welcoming, inclusive school environment where parents feel comfortable, listened to and supported
- Strong pastoral and SEND provision, particularly through the Hub, where families receive practical help, advice and reassurance
- Meaningful ways for parents to have a voice and regular feedback cycles that lead to real changes
- Our CARE values being lived out daily, not just displayed on walls
The audit also recognised the wider community work that many of you know well, such as the food bank, uniform swap shop, adult learning opportunities and support for families during key transitions.
Always improving
As you would expect, the audit also challenged us to keep moving forward. Our next steps include increasing parent ttendance at events, finding more ways for parents to be involved in school life, and making sure our work stays responsive to the changing needs of families. That feels like the right sort of challenge to have.
A genuine thank you
This award is not something the school achieves on its own. It is the result of day‑to‑day conversations, honest feedback, shared problem‑solving and the trust you place in us. Quite simply, it reflects the strength of the partnership between home and school.
Thank you for working alongside us, for engaging with school life in so many different ways, and for being such an important part of the Stretford High School community. This accreditation is a celebration of all of us.
Just a reminder that the Students’ Winter Fair is on Tuesday 16th December 3.10 pm – 4.25 pm. Please also note that school will finish for the festive break on Friday 19th December at 12.30 pm.
Take CARE
Mrs Nic Doward
