Dear Parents/Carers
As we all know, the weather in Manchester likes to keep us on our toes! With showers never far away, please make sure your child comes to school in a waterproof coat each day. If your family is struggling to provide one at the moment, we have a selection of preloved coats and uniform available. You can let us know through the Family Support Form on our website – link HERE.
Uniform standards continue to be very high – thank you for your support with this. A quick reminder that approved jewellery, apart from items worn for religious purposes, is limited to:
- One pair of ear studs
- One nose stud
- A watch
No other jewellery is permitted.
We’d also like to congratulate all students and families who have managed 100% attendance so far– a brilliant achievement.
Why does attendance matter so much? Research is very clear:
- Every day counts: even missing one day every two weeks adds up to nearly a month of lost learning across the year.
- 90% sounds good… but it isn’t. 90% attendance means your child has missed almost four whole weeks of school in a year!
Strong attendance = strong outcomes. Students with high attendance are far more likely to achieve good GCSE results and develop the skills and confidence they need for the future.
Thank you for continuing to work with us to give your child the very best chance of success.
Take care
Nic Doward (Headteacher)
