Dear Parents/Carers

Earlier this week, we shared information regarding the upcoming bus strikes that will affect the transportation options for some of our students. While this situation may cause some inconvenience, we want to encourage families to still ensure their children are able to attend school. This is a great opportunity to explore alternative ways of getting to school, including walking, cycling, or car-sharing with others in the community.

For those students who wish to cycle, we are pleased to inform you that the school has two bike stands on the school grounds where bikes can be securely locked. Students will need to bring their own lock… and bike! This is a convenient option for students who live nearby or have the ability to cycle safely to school.

We understand that some parents will need to drive their children to school due to the bus strike. We appreciate your cooperation in this regard. However, we would like to remind everyone to be mindful of the increased traffic around the school and to prioritise safety at all times.

In particular, we ask that parents do not stop their cars in the middle of the road to drop off their children. This is extremely dangerous and can lead to serious accidents, as we unfortunately experienced a few years ago. To help alleviate this, we suggest parking a little further away from the school, on a nearby road. This will not only be safer for your child to get out of the car, but it will also help ease the flow of traffic around the school and make the area safer for everyone.

As always, our primary concern is the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and families. We ask that parents, carers, and children remain vigilant and considerate during this time to help make the school environment as safe and efficient as possible.

Thank you for your understanding and support. If you have any concerns or need further information, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Take care

Nic Doward (Headteacher)
