Dear Parents and Carers, students & staff

A very warm welcome back to school!

I hope you all enjoyed a restful and rejuvenating break. It has been a genuine pleasure seeing our corridors and classrooms filled with energy once again; there is nothing quite like the buzz of our students returning, ready and eager to learn.

As we settle into the new term, we have spent time this week revisiting our uniform and equipment expectations. I am a firm believer in the idea that by getting the “small things” right, the “big things”—like academic success and personal growth—often take care of themselves.

To help us maintain these high standards, I ask for the continued support of our families in ensuring every student is fully prepared for the day ahead.

1. Ready to Learn: Equipment

Please ensure your child arrives with a school bag containing their essential “Learning Kit”:

  • School Journal

  • Stationery: Pens, pencils, and a ruler.

  • Calculator: Essential for across-the-curriculum learning.

2. Mobile Phones: “Off and Away”

To foster a focused learning environment, phones must be switched off and placed in bags before passing through the school gate. They should remain there until students exit the gates at the end of the day.

Need to get in touch? If a student needs to contact home during the day, they should head to Student Services. Our team is always happy to help facilitate necessary communication.

3. Uniform Standards

We take pride in our identity as a school community. We ask for your help in ensuring:

  • Blazers are worn at all times.

  • Ties are done up to the top button

  • Shirts are tucked in.

  • Skirts are worn at the correct length (to the knee).

4. Jewellery & Safety

For health and safety reasons, and to prevent the loss of valued items, we allow only:

  • One pair of small ear studs and one small, discreet nose stud.

  • One plain ring.

  • Bracelets only for religious observation.

By pulling together and maintaining these standards, we aren’t just following rules—we are teaching our young people the importance of professional standards and how to be “world-ready.” When we present ourselves with pride, we approach our work with a different level of respect and focus.

Thank you for your ongoing partnership and for making this start to the term so positive. Let’s have a fantastic week!

Thank you, as ever, for your support.

Take CARE,

Mrs Doward (Headteacher)
