Dear Parents and Carers,
It has been a real pleasure to welcome our students back after the summer break. Thank you for the part you play in helping them start the year so positively. The children have returned looking wonderful in their new uniforms and, importantly, well prepared for learning. Having the right equipment may seem like a small thing, but it makes a big difference to their confidence and success in the classroom.
This year we continue to celebrate students who consistently meet our high expectations through our Gold and Green rewards system:
- Gold: 100% attendance and punctuality, 10+ CARE points, no negative behaviour logs.
- Green: 95%+ attendance, 10+ CARE points, no suspensions, and no more than 3 lates or 3 behaviour logs.
- Red: below 95% attendance, fewer than 10 CARE points, 4+ behaviour logs, any suspension, or being late 4+ times.
We encourage all parents and carers to talk with their children about what they need to do to achieve a Green or Gold half term. The biggest step in reaching a goal is setting it in the first place and sharing this goal with you will really motivate them to achieve it.
Finally, I am pleased to share that over the summer we installed a new phone system in school. This should put an end to the issues we experienced with our phonelines last year. An added benefit of the new system is that all calls, both incoming and outgoing, are now recorded. This will improve both our service and our ability to support families.
Thank you again for all the effort that went into preparing your children for the start of term – it really shows. We are looking forward to working together for another successful year, and to celebrating the first set of Green and Gold achievements at the end of this half term!
